There is a possibility that Acne can result in swollen pustules appearing on the skins surface. This is called Cystic acne: large, painful, puss filled pustules. Why does this happen? Unfortunately, there is no one generic cause. There are a multitude of factors to take into consideration when trying to pinpoint the cause of your acne/cystic acne.
Among the possible culprits are:
-Heredity
-Hormones
-An accumulation of dirt and oil on the skins surface
Through observation, it's been concluded that acne is most common in teenagers.
One thing that is recommended against is popping your pimples. Acne is only temporary, so removing them by way of squeezing, popping or scratching can cause scarring. Scars resulting from Cystic Acne may be permanent, depending on severity and whether or not cosmetic surgery is an option.
Conventional drugs may be less than effective when attempting to treat cystic acne.
